Inside the Outlook: The Future of Wellness

On Friday, June 23, VIPs from The Outlook at Windhaven (OAW) congregated at Plano’s Carpenter Park Recreation Center for an inside look into the future of wellness at OAW. VIPs were joined by Presbyterian Village North (PVN) teammates Shannon Radford, Director of Wellness, and Deana Lisenby, Lifestyle Fitness Manager. The dynamic duo provided helpful tips on staying active to help slow the course of gradual health decline many seniors experience.

During the presentation, Shannon and Deana highlighted the seven dimensions of wellness including intellectual, vocational, social, spiritual, emotional, environmental and physical, emphasizing that each facet can be fulfilled or catered to at senior living communities like PVN and OAW. They reminded their senior guests that it’s never too late to make a positive lifestyle change and shared that wellness offers something for everyone, regardless of age or physical ability.

Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to view renderings of the fitness and aquatics center at their future community as they learned about the various programs and therapies expected to be offered. After an active question and answer session, Deana led audience members in a light exercise demonstration featuring fitness bands personalized especially for OAW VIPs.
