A legacy gift to the Forefront Living Foundation through your will, insurance policies or retirement plans is a powerful and thoughtful way to help our mission continue for generations to come. Your legacy gift gives you the opportunity to make philanthropy an important part of your life story while supporting the future of Forefront Living.
You may plan your legacy gift to the Forefront Living Foundation by:
- Naming Forefront Living Foundation in your life insurance policy
- Naming Forefront Living Foundation as the beneficiary of your qualified retirement plan or IRA
- Making a bequest in your estate plan
Life Insurance Policy Gifts
You may donate a paid policy that you no longer need by naming the Forefront Living Foundation as the beneficiary and policy owner. In return, you will receive an immediate tax deduction based on your cost basis in the policy. You may also designate the Forefront Living Foundation as a partial beneficiary of your policy.
Qualified Retirement or IRA Gifts
By naming the Forefront Living Foundation as the primary beneficiary of your qualified retirement plan or IRA, this asset avoids income and estate taxes. Alternatively, you can also add Forefront Living Foundation as contingent beneficiary upon the death of the named beneficiary.
Bequests in Estate Plans or Wills
An outright bequest to the Forefront Living Foundation may provide tax benefits for your estate while supporting the programs and services that strengthen our community.
You may arrange for Forefront Living Foundation to receive:
- A specific dollar amount
- Specified assets, such as real estate, stocks or personal property
- All or a portion of the remainder of your estate, after all other obligations have been taken care of.
The following sample language may be used when discussing a bequest to the Forefront Living Foundation with your professional advisors.
Fixed dollar amount
“I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $___ dollars to the Forefront Living Foundation, 12467 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251, to be used in accordance with the charitable purposes of the Forefront Living Foundation or a community it serves.”
Stated percent of estate
“I give, devise, and bequeath ___% of my estate to the Forefront Living Foundation, 12467 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251, to be used in accordance with the charitable purposes of the Forefront Living Foundation or a community it serves.”
Residue of estate
“I give, devise and bequeath all of the rest, residue and remainder (or ___%) of my estate to the Forefront Living Foundation, 12467 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251, to be used in accordance with the charitable purposes of the Forefront Living Foundation or a community it serves.”
General bequest or bequest for specific purposes
The most useful bequest to the Forefront Living Foundation is an unrestricted bequest. This permits the Foundation to use your gift wherever it is most needed at the time. If you wish to specify a use for your bequest, we ask that you consult with the Forefront Living Foundation at (214) 413-1577.
