Jermain Owens joined the Bella Vida (BV) team in April as Director of Building Services, bringing with him 18 years of experience in facilities management. Previously, he served as Director of Engineering for 15 years at a community in Chicago, Illinois, and most recently as Director of Environmental Services at a senior living community in Boerne, Texas. In his new role, Jermain will oversee the Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry teams and make sure the community stays safe, clean and comfortable for all residents, teammates and guests. He looks forward to building lasting relationships throughout the community.

I am most proud of the relationships and trust I have built throughout my career with residents, families and team members. Leading through challenging projects and transitions while maintaining a positive, steady working environment has been very rewarding.

Outside of work, I love being outdoors and staying active. I enjoy spending time at the park with my kids, playing sports with my son, attending sporting events and working out whenever I can. I’m a lifelong Chicago sports fan – Bears, Bulls, Cubs and Sky all the way!

I’ve been married to my wife, Josie, for 13 years. We moved to San Antonio from Chicago two years ago. We have two children, one son Jamere (13) and one daughter Justice (2).
How would your friends describe you in three words?
My friends would say I’m dependable, hardworking and approachable.
What’s something that people might be surprised to learn about you?
People are often surprised to learn that I’m really into bushcraft and outdoor survival activities, even though I grew up in the city. My favorite show is Naked and Afraid. I’ve seen every episode and every variation, and now I’m making my wife rewatch them with me!
