Celebrating making Each Moment Matter

On Tuesday, October 13, guests filled the Imperial Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole Hotel for the Forefront Living Foundation’s (FLF) 17th Annual Each Moment Matters Luncheon (EMM). Co-chaired by Dr. Joan Hill and Vicky Riley, the event celebrated individuals and organizations making a meaningful difference in the lives of others while raising funds for the FLF Caring Fund and the Adult Day Stay program, coming soon to Presbyterian Village North (PVN).

The FLF Caring Fund underwrites charitable care for seniors and their families, supporting services such as comfort therapies and spiritual support, educational opportunities and assistance for teammates as well as resources for those navigating the challenges of aging and caregiving. It provides comfort, preserves dignity and reminds those served that they are not alone.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted by the jazzy sounds of the trio, Royal Dukes, and invited to enjoy bites and bellinis. To begin the afternoon program, Diane Fullingim, FLF Executive Director, welcomed everyone and expressed her gratitude to those who helped make the luncheon possible. “Each year, this luncheon is a labor of love. The FLF receives so much support from our Chairs, teammates, sponsors and guests,” said Diane.

Father Cliff Smith, St. Joseph Village Priest and Chaplain followed with a blessing. Emcee Jason Whitely of WFAA Channel 8 shared the impact of funds raised through the 2025 EMM Luncheon. Forefront Living (FL) CEO Tim Mallad shared about the history of the FLF and the power of partnerships in supporting and strengthening the mission of FL.

Recognizing individuals and an organization whose work reflects a deep commitment to serving others, this year’s EMM honorees were celebrated on stage including retired U.S. Command Sergeant Gretchen Evans; Dominique McCain, President and CEO of Educational First Steps; Dr. Cheryl Jackson, founder of Minnie’s Food Pantry; Patty and David Miller, philanthropists and community volunteers; Lauren and David Moore, founders of the Catholic Music Initiative; Celine Hubler and Susan deLarios, residents of PVN and creators of the Timeless Beauties calendar; and the Visiting Nurse Association. As lunch concluded, guests heard a moving keynote from Dr. Patrick Walsh, a nationally respected military leader, educator and business executive whose career has been shaped by service, leadership and a commitment to developing future generations. His remarks offered guests an opportunity to reflect on the importance of leading with purpose and making a difference in the lives of others.

“This year’s EMM keynote, Dr. Patrick Walsh, delivered a powerful message about the power of non-profits working together toward a common purpose. His remarks highlighted what we can accomplish when we come together to serve others,” shared Tim Mallad.

The afternoon was a reminder that positive change begins with people willing to give of their time and resources to support others. Through the generosity of its supporters, the EMM Luncheon continues to help the FLF provide care and assistance to seniors, families and teammates when they need it most.
