Bella Vida’s (BV) original art collection, painted by artist Cheri Ingle, is a beautiful tribute to San Antonio’s rich culture. Cheri became connected with BV through her friendship with Forefront Living CEO, Tim Mallad, who introduced her work to Bridget Bohacz, interior designer for the BV project. Bridget was drawn to several of Cheri’s larger pieces featuring dancers and volumes of fabric that seemed to move. She shared her vision for the collection, including the influence of folkloric dancers, and provided a color palette that gave Cheri a starting point for her work.
Cheri offered a closer look at the artistry behind the three paintings she created especially for the city’s newest senior living community. Her work captures the region’s vibrant heritage and the emotion displayed by the Los Alamos folkloric dancers. Their dramatic movements, fabrics and colors influenced the collection’s artistic direction, which also celebrates the beauty of Mexican folklórico, a tradition of dance passed down through generations.
Each of the three paintings, Danza Del Sol: Evening Whispers of Los Alamos, Ribbons in the Wind and La Danza Eterna, depict expressive performances and reflect the freedom of dance. Through these original works, Cheri hopes residents and visitors to BV will remember the history of those who came before them. She also hopes the paintings inspire others to live vibrantly and to embrace passion for the things they love.
