As we celebrate grandparents in September, it is a wonderful time to recognize the special place they hold in our families. This month, my older two children, Harper and Taylor, had Grandparents Day at their elementary school and they could hardly contain their excitement. They were so proud to show their grandparents around their school, introduce them to their teachers and share a little glimpse of their everyday lives. As we sat down to dinner afterward, it was clear just how much the experience meant to them. They felt special. They felt seen. And, most importantly, they felt loved.
I think many of us have been blessed with grandparents who made us feel that same way – grandparents who took the time to listen, who celebrated the little things, who shared their wisdom and stories and who made us feel like we were the most important people in the room. Grandparents create memories and provide a kind of love that stays with us.
As Bella Vida nears completion, we look forward to becoming home for quite a few grandparents, and to welcoming their children and grandchildren through our doors for years to come.
